I've checked the hole size for the rear lights and it was 6cm.
Originally I planned to mount the fuel cap on the top of the rear deck but then realised how hard it was going to be to do it, so I changed my mind and fitted it on the rear end. I've gone for quite a gentle curve in the fuel hose to try and stop the filling problems I may encounter but only time will tell.

I took a load of pictures of the rear section for the SVA man, hopefully I'll just be able to show him the pictures without taking stuff apart, which would be rather nice! It's worth a try!

With the rear lights installed and working I moved on to the fronts, the bar was measured and the centre line of the front found so I could get it dead centre. Once this was done the bar was clamped in place and drilled out to 8mm, long M8 bolts went through the bar and chassis rail and were secured with nylocks. I've measured from the edge of the light surface to the wheel arch and it's 406mm which is an SVA fail, fortunately I was expecting this and a bracket has been sourced to space the lights out.
I've trial wired the wiring so I can test it but haven't fitted it correctly until the brackets are in.

The next milestone is the throttle pedal, with the scuttle top in I could find out where to put the pedal. I worked out a rough position with trainers on and transfered my workings on to the top panel (actually, I guessed). I drilled out the 2 holes needed, fed the pedal up and masked it in place and found it was spot on. So I chopped away and fitted the pedal properly.

One thing that was apparent, I needed a return spring on the pedal, suggestions on LCB had me looking at lights etc to find something suitable, it was only when I was clearing up some rubbish that I saw the R1 sidestand in the corner with a lovely double spring on it. A small bit of bending later and it's all in place.
