Build day 7 - No more head banging!

Today was tub day, no more smacking my head on the tub when going for tools!

The morning started with me building up the front suspension rockers, at the moment I haven't received the build manual for the RT suspension, I'm just going from pictures of Marc's car and KrisMc's. The front rocker has been built up and it was pretty straight forward. The pivot point has 2 small inner bearings, a washer, a thrust bearing and then another washer. Once it's bolted in place I then connected the shock absorbers.
I haven't been able to do the bottom bolts up yet as the bolt head is too big to clear the front tube. Marc is sending me some bolts to resolve this in my next Red Cross package!

I've drilled the 10mm hole to run the clutch cable through the chassis rail and checked the routing, it's all in place just waiting for the brakes to be setup so I can cut the cable to suit.

All of the engine mounting holes have now been drilled and the cradle bolted in place.

My wife got back from her girly night out  so I borrowed her for 20 minutes to lower the tub ont the chassis. I made sure the chassis was all masked up but I think the tape has worn through in a couple of places so I'll need to touch up the powder coat. One thing it is important to do is make sure that nothing is in the way of the tub fitting the chassis! I spent a good ten minutes trying to figure out why I couldn't pull the tub forward only to find out the axle stands were in the way!

With major use of a hole cutter and a dremel sanding wheel I notched the tub to clear the roll bar, front wishbone holes and other things that were in the way, this was quite nerve racking so I made sure everthing was spot on by measuring 30 times and cutting once! UInfortunately one of the measuring points was out so one of the holes is bigger than it needs to be but this will be fine as I can enlarge it to encompass the steering arms.

I think that's pretty much it for the day, here are the pictures including measuring up for cooling hoses.
