Day four - Starting to take shape

After finishing in the garage yesterday I just couldn't bring myself to do an update. Looking at the build guide and other build pictures it looked like my pedal box was incomplete as the clutch mounting point was missing.

I spoke to Marc this morning and was reassured, Marc has redesigned the pedal box to improve the clutch feel and reduce the possiblity of stalling.

Today's build went well, both fuel lines are in, I've left them unclipped in the engine bay and rear section as I'm not sure where they should go yet. I've found that it's easier to drill the chassis with a smaller drill and step up to the 5mm for the larger rivets. By using a 3mm pilot I've gone 3 days without breaking a drill bit or blunting one!

I've started to clip up the wiring loom but I'm not happy with the mounting method so I have to sort something else out.

I've started to notch the rear panel, just some minor triming and it's done.

One thing I have noticed from the build manual is that it's not easy to see where pipes and cables route. I've taken a number of pictures as I've gone so that others have a reference. The build manual should really only be used as a guide, because Marc keeps updating the chassis the pictures become out of date very quickly.
