MK have a huge following and loads of build sites to pour over, MNR on the other hand are new guys to the field. They've been building kits for about 15 months and at time of writing have sold 56 kits. Both were great on the phone, answered questions and didn't come across as pushy. They both did what they said they'd do which really left it down to kit details and bodywork quality.  I asked MNR about colour choices and said I was thinking of Kawasaki Green, Chris said that it would be no problems and duely sent me out a piece of fibreglass in that colour so I'd get an idea!

I started looking at pictures of the chassis. That's when my decision became easier. The MNR chassis is a work of art especially if you include the inboard suspension! There is more triangulation and everything is built for your engine. I arranged with Chris to visit them on a Saturday morning so that I could see it in the flesh and meet the guys that might be building the foundations of my car

I spent a good 3 hours talking to Chris and Marc, finding out the differences between the RT (my choice) and the RT+. Unfortunately for me Marc was too good a salesman! One of the things I was considering on my RT was the inboard suspension, I felt that the RT+ would be over my budget and besides I wanted a digidash!

I sat in the passenger seat of Marc's bright orange RT+ and was impressed with the space, (I couldn't get in the driver's seat as Marc isn't as tall as me and the seats aren't on runners) I was also impressed with the GRP seats, the comfort was quite surprising! I also got my first look at a digidash in the flesh which has freed up another £400 in the budget! I went through the difference in performance between the RT and the RT+. Now the RT+ is 30KG lighter than the RT, Marc believes that he would be 2 seconds a lap quicker in the RT+, now given his background I can't say I would be the same as he can actually drive!

As I wanted to do trackdays and some hillclimb events I really didn't want to scrimp on the chassis so I decided that I'd forgo some nice-to-haves for now and go for the RT+

I handed over a cheque for £500 deposit and came up with a basic order list of the Fuel Tank, Wiring Loom and Pedal box assembly, Chris is also going to try and source either a 4XV or 5JJ Yamaha R1 engine as he needs to know what I'm going for to build the chassis to fit it.

There's not really much more to say here, all I can do is wait until May and sell the Evo in a hurry!
